Meaning Of Man-Made Routines
         Man-made routines are the rigid laws, beliefs and practices introduced by humanity into the worship of God. They are called routines because people are doing them everyday, and from time to time. They have become people’s habit. The routines are man-made because they are decisions taking at meetings, councils, synods and conferences without consulting God. The decisions are usually made by religious leaders or ancestors, and then handed down to subsequent generations as if the decisions were God’s commandment. People follow these routines without knowing that they are doing the wrong things.

Bible Evidences Of Man-Made Routines
         Here are examples of references warning people of man-made doctrines:
  1. 8 "These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
    And honor Me with their lips,
    But their heart is far from Me.
    9 And in vain they worship Me,
    Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'"
    Matthew 15:8-9

  2. 16 Thus says the LORD of hosts:
    "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you.
    They make you worthless;
    They speak a vision of their own heart,
    Not from the mouth of the LORD.
    17 They continually say to those who despise Me,
    'The LORD has said,"You shall have peace"';
    And to everyone who walks according to the dictates of his own heart, they say,
    'No evil shall come upon you.'"
    Jeremiah 23:16-17

  3. 21 "I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran.
    I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
    22 But if they had stood in My counsel,
    And had caused My people to hear My words,
    Then they would have turned them from their evil way
    And from the evil of their doings.
    Jeremiah 23:21-22

  4. “Do not learn the ways of the nations,” says the Lord.

  5. 19 The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship."

John 4:19-24

  6. 15 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. Matthew 23:15

  7. 13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Matthew 23:13-14

  8. 8 "How can you say, 'We are wise,
    And the law of the LORD is with us'?
    Look, the false pen of the scribe certainly works falsehood. Jeremiah 8:8

How To Know The Man-Made Routines
         Check through the Bible. Whenever Jesus mentions the Pharisees and Scribes, he means wrong practices and those who teach them. In the world today, the Pharisees and Scribes refer to the religious leaders, especially those of them who are not spiritually awake, enlightened and experienced. And they are numerous, able to speak loud and bold, but their teaching are misleading people, signifying nothing and benefiting none.
